Itinerary Description

Arrive Entebbe International Airport, meet with your guide and transfer to your hotel. O/N Airport Guest House-

Following your breakfast, drive L. Mburo National Park. The Park shelters almost seventy mammal species and over 300 avian species in its forests, swamps and grasslands. This spectacular landscape features open plains of savanna interrupted by rocky ridges, forested gorges and lush dense woodland. Crocodiles, hippos and a myriad of water birds are found in and around the five lakes, of which Lake Mburo is the largest. Other commonly spotted wildlife include: impala, oribi, eland, zebra, buffalo, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hyena, hippo and reedbuck.

You will have a hot lunch on the way, go for a game rive upon arrival and either a boat cruise on L. Mburo or a nature walk in the Park. O/N Eagle’s Nest

Early this morning as the African sun breaks out over the wilderness, venture out in your customised safari vehicle for a game drive to look for big cats, elephants, buffalo and many antelope and a massive variety of bird species. You will have the delight of a breakfast in the midst of the savannah this morning, a game drive as you proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. O/N Bush Lodge

Up early today, go for a morning game drive, and In the afternoon enjoy a leisurely boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 32-kilometre long natural channel linking Lake Edward and Lake George.  Kazinga’s shores are dotted with herds of lazy buffalo, pods of hippos wallowing without a care, and countless bird species.  Drift past local fishing villages and soak up the peaceful tranquillity of this beautiful African day.  (Cruise normally departs at 14h00, although this depends on availability when booking and is subject to change –no drinks/ snacks included on boat) You may encounter herds of elephant, buffalos and antelopes, families of warthogs, large groups of hippos, and crocodiles basking on the shore. Kazinga’s shores are a haven for numerous birds, including many migratory species as they make their way south to warmer climates. Go Gorilla tracking accompanied by a guide and porters to carry your luggage. The rainforest is stunning as it offers a striking, heavily forested, and dense landscape habitat for numerous primates. Animals in this forest include the endangered mountain gorilla, the rare golden monkey, elephants, black-fronted duikers, bushbucks, leopards, giant forest hogs as well as other animals. This park is best known for the mesmerizing gorillas, where the time taken, and terrain varies according to the movements of these marvellous primates. Following an early breakfast at the lodge, travel to National Park Headquarters to meet your guides for the day and begin your gorilla tracking experience. Experienced guides and trackers will accompany your party on an early morning trek into the dense rain forest on the mountain slopes. 

The journey, through dense foliage and up steep climbs, is abundantly rewarded with the lifetime experience of viewing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.  You will have an opportunity to be within meters of these magnificent apes, sharing in their daily lives and experiencing their day-to-day activities.  Mountain gorillas are extremely rare with only an estimated 880 remaining in the wild.  This is an experience you won’t soon forget!
