Drive south of the city through Butare with a few stops for the attractions en route including the national museum in Huye, proceed to Nyungwe Forest. This is also another home primates like the Monkeys and chimpanzees, arrive late evening and O/N: Nyungwe Forest Lodge
After breakfast, go for Forest walks in the park to track chimpanzee. Nyungwe Forest harbours 13 species of primates; these include Chimpanzees and the handsome L’hoest’s Monkey with his flowingshirt. It is also Rwanda’s important ornithological sites harboring almost 275bird species of which half a dozen are restricted to the handful montane forests on the Albertine rift. Guided nature walk in the forest to see a variety of animals and some of the three hundred bird species found here. And for those interested in Birding, Nyungwe is one of the most important ornithological sites in Rwanda, harbouring almost 275 bird species of which half a dozen are restricted to a handful of montane forests on the Albertine rift. This morning, be early at the park headquarters ready to go for the most exciting exercise/activity in the whole world over; Gorilla tracking! Gorillas are the largest of the great apes. A mature male may be six feet tall and weigh 400 pounds or more; his enormous arms can span eight feet. The mountain gorilla's range is limited to a small area of lush wet forests in central Africa. There only a few thousand remain, leading a precarious existence. The Exercise of Gorilla tracking can be a challenging however, considering its uniqueness, it worth the try O/N Mtn Gorilla View lodge
After breakfast, we either go hiking to the visoke or visit the grave of Dian Fossey and the former Karisoke Research Centre. The excursion will provide excellent background information and this is a wonderful site to see! O/N Mtn Gorilla View lodge
